The Journey That Didn’t Start.

Nathalie tries to fly to Accra via Edinburgh.

You won’t believe it: we couldn’t take off for Edinburgh on Tuesday!

There was a total air traffic control blackout in the UK due to a system failure—or maybe a cyberattack! Over 1,000 flights were cancelled, and Cléa and I were among them. So, it was back home (thanks to the neighbors for picking us up); otherwise, we would have been sleeping on cots at Baden-Baden airport, since there was no more public transport and no hotel rooms left.

I had to find new tickets, which wasn’t easy, and the extra cost was huge. We will fly to Edinburgh again on Saturday (from Strasbourg and via Palma 🫣), and I’ll fly to Accra on Monday (fingers crossed).

Traveling is getting so complicated and stressful!

Not to mention that Cléa and I also caught COVID 😷—you wouldn’t believe the looks we got from fellow travelers and staff, since we were the only ones wearing masks (a far cry from the norm in Asia 🤭)
