Brida Next Week
Next week in Brida, we begin a new rhythm.
After a month of Balance, we move gently into Rest.
Not the decorative kind of rest. Not the kind that appears in wellness quotes beside a candle and a cup of tea, although we are not against tea if tea is doing its job.
This is the more human kind of rest.
The kind that asks what happens when the body is tired, the mind is full, the phone is noisy, the week has been too long, and yet life still expects us to continue being reasonably functional human beings.
So next week, we come to the table with different doors into the same question.
On Monday, Ralf opens the week with Social Balance. Alex takes us into the Balance between work and play, while the Atlantic Corridor looks at Digital Balance.
On Tuesday, Fabrice brings us into Active Rest — which sounds like a contradiction until you realise that many of us only recover properly when we are moving, walking, doing, laughing, or quietly escaping the chair.
On Wednesday, the Swimming Club asks what kind of Sleep restores. Sylvie looks at Digital Rest, which feels especially necessary in a world where the phone follows us into almost every corner of private life.
On Thursday, Babette opens The Creative Pause. Sarah NC joins the Thursday table, and Lunch brings us to Emotional Rest — perhaps the most difficult form of rest, because the body can sit down long before the heart does.
And on Friday, Peeling Potatoes returns to Active Rest, because apparently even potatoes need movement before they can become wise.
This is the point of Brida.
Not to turn life into a lesson.
To bring life to the table and let it speak.
Some people arrive with work. Some with family. Some with sport. Some with tiredness. Some with stories. Some with too many tabs open in their head. Slowly, around the table, the ordinary details begin to show us something larger.
Next week, the question is simple:
What kind of rest do we actually need?
Not what should we need.
Not what looks good from the outside.
What actually helps us return to ourselves?
Come to a table. Bring your week with you.
