Smile, giggle and laugh…
If something makes you smile like a happy pineapple, giggle like a soda with too many bubbles, or laugh when eating popping candy…Do. It. Again. After all, laughter is the best medicine and laughing boots serotonin and relives stress.
Why should we laugh, and why should we repeat what made us laugh? Because your happiness is basically free refills at the soda fountain of life. Why stop at one? Who doesn’t like free soda or free coffee? Just the way laughter is free. The more we laugh, the happier we feel, and the best part is that is contagious… Having a bad day, watch a silly video or talk to someone funny. Laugh at an inappropriate moment, it might even make the serious moment feel much lighter.
Life’s way too short to only bounce on the trampoline once. Double bounce that joy, triple dip that ice cream, quadruple giggle-snort until your cheeks hurt. Life is way too serious not to laugh and have fun. While we might be going through a difficult time or we might be experiencing some backlash we still need to remember how to have fun and be free.
Watch the birds, your pets, or even kids play, I am convinced, you will see something worth laughing about. After watching a movie where a man wrestled a crocodile and then pretended he didn’t know where it came from, I was still laughing for a few days when the thought came to mind.
If it tickles your soul like a pineapple in roller skates… repeat, repeat, repeat! Almost like repeating your favourite movies. (Not to mention the Harry Potter frenzy my husband and son is going on with at the moment.) Nothing funny about that apart from the way my son says “Harry Potter” and practising his magic tricks.
When everything else falls apart, laugh while you still have teeth.
