Just another word for “Plot twist”

I have been thinking about my failures and success for the past year. Reflection. What can I do differently, where did things go wrong but also more positively, where did things go right?

What do I need to change and what do I need to work on? I noticed I have more positive things to remember and reflect on than negatives. I have a steady rhythm, I have a steady schedule and I do my best every time. But that being said, there is always room for improvement.

And sometimes we have to fail before we succeed.

But the questions is, is failure really failure? Or is just a lesson in disguise? If we can learn something from it, it is not really failure, in my opinion. We learn what not to do… Baking a cake and failing – you just learned how NOT to bake a cake. Riding your bicycle and falling, uhmm something I have done a lot, you learned what not to do. Planting flowers and they die, you learned you don’t have a green thumb…

But what happens then? You try baking another cake. You climb back onto the bicycle and maybe you try to plant something else. You don’t sit in a corner feeling sorry for yourself. You manage what life throws at you. It is not the end. It is just a plot twist!

Almost similar to the book I have been reading, this woman falls in love with a charming man after inheriting a house from her aunt. He lives close by and drops in from time to time. But the plot twist is, he is a ghost! I haven’t finished it yet, so I have no idea, how she will find the truth about him.

And that is exactly what we should do in life too – find your truth. If you fail miserably at one thing, find something else that you are actually good at.

I am not a very good runner, but I run. I was very fit and a much better cycler but a plot twist pushed me into another direction. And I don’t regret it. I still have hopes of cycling again when my son is a little older and maybe he would like to join me. But it is still his choice.

I want to be fit and run fast but the weather is my plot twist at the moment. I am not giving up yet and I will take any moment I can, to run. That is the only way to get fitter and stronger. But I am also preparing myself mentally for not failing but not being the best either.

When you feel like a failure, when you feel sad and blue about things that you cannot control, dust the sprinkles off, get back up and keep going, even if you are pushed into a different direction.

Learn the lessons taught by life, fix your crown and move forward like the champion you are. It is not the end of the race yet.
